Qasser Babil is a non-profit organization with over 140 members that accounts for about 90% of South Africa’s fresh produce exports. The Qasser Babil, along with the country’s five growers’ organizations, is also a member of Fruit South Africa (FSA). This position improves Qasser Babil’s role as a leader and service provider to its members, the worldwide buying community, and the fresh produce export sector as a whole. Members of the Qasser Babil include fresh produce exporters, producer-exporters, export and marketing agents, packhouses, transportation companies, and other service providers. While participation is voluntary and accessible to all South African fresh produce exporting enterprises and industry service providers, rigorous certification standards and a Code of Conduct apply to guarantee that the Forum only admits qualified and dependable marketing agents and grower-exporters.
